WASHINGTON — In 2012, congressional investigators asked the State Department for a wide range of documents related to the attack on the United States diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. The department eventually responded, furnishing House committees with thousands of documents.
But it turns out that that was not everything.
The State Department had not searched the email account of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton because she had maintained a private account, which shielded it from such searches, department officials acknowledged on Tuesday.
It was only last month that the House committee appointed to investigate Benghazi was provided with about 300 of Mrs. Clinton’s emails related to the attacks. That was shortly after Mrs. Clinton turned over, at the State Department’s request, some 50,000 pages of government-related emails that she had kept on her private account.

It was one of several instances in which records requests sent to the State Department, which had no access to Mrs. Clinton’s emails, came up empty.
In 2013, Nitasha Tiku, then a reporter for Gawker, filed a Freedom of Information Act request, seeking all correspondence on Mrs. Clinton’s private email account between her and Sidney Blumenthal, a close adviser and onetime staff member in the Clinton White House. Some of those emails had already spilled into public view and been reported in the news media. But the State Department told Gawker that it could find no records responsive to the request, Gawker reported.
Mrs. Clinton’s aides on Tuesday sought to play down the significance of her exclusive use of a personal email account for State Department business. But an examination of records requests sent to the department reveals how the practice protected a significant amount of her correspondence from the eyes of investigators and the public.
Mrs. Clinton’s exclusive use of personal email for her government business is unusual for a high-level official, archive experts have said. Federal regulations, since 2009, have required that all emails be preserved as part of an agency’s record-keeping system. In Mrs. Clinton’s case, her emails were kept on her personal account and her staff took no steps to have them preserved as part of State Department record.
In response to a State Department request, Mrs. Clinton’s advisers, late last year, reviewed her account and decided which emails to turn over to the State Department.
The State Department says it will now search the 50,000 emails Mrs. Clinton provided in response to Freedom of Information and congressional requests.
The White House, in its first response to the news, said it frowned on the practice of officials using their personal email accounts.

AS TREY GOWDY PREPARES TO LEAD THE NEW MAJOR INVESTIGATION....

11-6-13 - CIA Benghazi workers to finally testify, expected to question State Department's 'investigation' timeline. And, who was it who signed off on the decision NOT to have a rescue team sent in (as heard on the John Bachelor radio by one who was there. )?

Benghazi was a planned, sophisticated attack by al Qaeda against a barely protected American outpost. Lara Logan reports.  - click above for full video from 10-27-13 60 Minutes

CBS and LAURA LOGAN / 60 MINUTES SUPRISE BENGHAZI STORY - One of the few times, if ever, 60 minutes has broken ranks with the liberal administraton and done, basically, a story going against the government. Truth that it may be, we haven't seen the likes of this story before from CBS, so kudos to Laura and powers that be.  We learn at the very end of the piece that 60 minutes has been doing a year long investigation of their own on Benghazi. We certainly got more out of this 20 minute story than we did from the State Department's investigation including mention of a new book by one of those Americans who was there during the Benghazi raids 'Embassy House'  by Morgan Jones (please search it from this link)

12/12 CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS ON BENGHAZI TAKE PLACE
but Hillary Clinton, the key link, is nowhere to be found...INSTEAD
     1)  Clinton goes to Australia to attend a Wine Tasting
       2) Clinton falls down in her home and has a concussion
3) Clinton has surgery for a blood clot in her head

A few days before she is to leave office as Secretary of State,
Hillary Clinton finally shows for hearings and proclaims:

ACTUAL FOOTAGE OF THEN SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON 'OUTBURST ' AT   BENGHAZI HEARINGS, JANUARY 23, 2013

Other side's ANSWER (to Hillary) :

:BENGHAZI -
-  Poorly Secured Libyan Embassy even after many requests by Ambassador Stevens and others
-  Refusal to send in military jets during terrorist attack to at least try to stave off terrorist attackers
-  Denial of terrorist attack, after the fact, for a full two weeks: ' It was a protest over a Youtube video'
-  Refusal to give true details eight months later, only false promises that the purpetrators 'will be                brought to  justice.'
-  FOUR DEAD AMERICANS      - America Wants Answers How it happened and Who did it

 Eight Months After Benghazi...
Still No Answers from the Obama Administration

The modus operandi for the Obama Administration becomes obvious after we see it repeated so often:

1) Promise an investigation and that purpetrators 'will be brought to justice.'
2) Stonewall for months
3) Refuse to talk 'pending  the investigation.'
4) String along the 'investigation' for many months until , hopefully, people will forget Benghazi
and other topics willtake over Americans' short attention spans.
5) When people ask , 'What REALLY Happened,' just tell them ' Oh, that was so long ago...'

The State Department finally decides to have its own investigation but Hillary is never called to testify...
And guess what's lurking around the corner...

WATERGATE REPORTER LIKENS BENGHAZI-GATE  TO WATERGATE
The Reporter who broke the 1972 Nison - Watergate draws a close parallel between the new Obama Admin scandals  and Watergate. Disregarding the IRS and AP scandals, he considers Benghazi-gate, alone,
may end up on a par with Watergate. In November, Bob Woodward didn't believe Benghazi
was significant at all, but now, with time he feels it's reached a level near Watergate and
time will tell how much further things migh escalate.

MORE SCANDALS... Meanwhile, the President had new scandals to deal with - or not deal with.
Obama probably knew about the IRS targeting convervatives. Just off  the fact that he signed off on a
$100,000 bonus to one of head women there 'for doing such a good job' you have to believe
he knew...  Then there was the AP Press Wiretap Scandal, where it was learned that dozens of media people like Rosen of Fox had their emails and/or phones tapped by government.... And don't forget 'Fast and Furious gunrunning where the government literally put guns in the hands of illegal alients

... and more scandals coming for Obama.  Gee, Nixon only had one!

ONE YEAR LATER....

8-13 NOW CNN (no less) has found Benghazi perpetrators that the so-called 'State Department investigation'  has been unable to find in a year! The drips continue...

9-14 AS TREY GOWDY READIES TO LEAD THE NEW, BIG INVESTIGATION....
'13 DAYS, as reported in Fox News Special

When U.S. ambassador J. Christopher Stevens was killed in a flash of hatred in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012, the political finger-pointing began. But few knew exactly what had happened that night. With the ticktock narrative of the desperate fight to save Stevens, Fred Burton and Samuel M. Katz provide answers.

THE INFERNO The U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya, in flames, on September 11, 2012. The attackers seemed to have detailed knowledge of the mission's layout and even to know there were jerry cans full of gasoline near the compound's western wall, which they would use to fuel the fire.
